I cannot believe I have never visited the State Library. Well, if I have, I don’t remember it.
The fabulous Kelly Hody joined me on this experience, along with my trusty “50 Before 50” sidekicks for the day, Aiva and Chloe.
The focal point of our visit was the Mortlock Wing, and wow, talk about stunning! I had no idea this gem existed. The beautiful wooden balconies, and rows upon rows of old books felt like stepping back in time. It’s a book lover’s dream and an Instagrammer’s paradise!
Beyond its aesthetic charm, the library has so much to offer. We could have spent hours wandering through the collections, marveling at rare books, historical documents, and fascinating exhibits (but we didn’t because we had other things to tick off my list).
Thank you, Kelly, Aiva, and Chloe, for joining me on this adventure. I highly recommend visiting the Mortlock Wing even if libraries aren’t your thing.
