I used to love reading bedtime stories to my daughter, Aiva, but now that she’s a teenager, I don’t get that pleasure anymore. Reading together was such an important part of our daily routine, not just for her development, but also for the precious downtime we spent together, bonding and sharing adventures through the pages of a book.
So, as part of my “50 Before 50” list, I decided to relive the tradition. This one was out of pure force for her, but I insisted. I chose a book we used to read together when she was younger and sat on her bed to read it to her. It was one of those moments that took me back in time, reminding me of those quiet evenings filled with giggles, questions, and a shared love for stories.

I think she secretly loved it, even though she hasn’t asked me to do it again. For me, it was a wonderful trip down memory lane and it felt good to reconnect in this way, even if just for a short while.
