This one’s been on my vision board for as long as I can remember. Despite living in Alice Springs during my 20’s, I never made the trip to The Rock. My “50 Before 50” list was the perfect excuse to finally tick this off.
Seeing Uluru in person is beyond words. Its sheer size and isolation in the middle of nowhere was gobsmacking. Photos just can’t capture its true magnitude.
We stayed at The Desert Palms Hotel at Ayers Rock Resort and hired a car to get around independently (we are not big fans of tours).
Our trip was filled with incredible experiences. We kicked off with a ride on a camel to see Uluru at sunrise. Riding through the desert with the sun casting its first light over the rock was an unforgettable experience. We also indulged in the Field of Lights tour, where we enjoyed canapés and beverages while witnessing the stunning light installation at sunset. Amazing!
Initially, I planned to tackle this trip solo, but my beautiful daughter decided to join me. Creating memories with her was the best part of this journey.
Together, we felt like two strong, independent women taking on the desert. And we nailed it!
