I’m not a massive fan of gin. I much prefer a vino. However, I drive past Ambleside every time I go through Hahndorf on my way to visit my mum and I’ve always had a desire to drop in and check it out.
So, it was time to round up some girls and take a road trip.
With Maria, Kelly, and Tash by my side, we ventured into Ambleside. This family-owned Hahndorf distillery is known for producing award-winning gin, whisky, and cocktails. The setting was beautiful, and we were welcomed by the friendliest staff.
It was a beautiful afternoon. The weather was perfect, and the gin was delish! We sampled a variety of gins, each with unique botanicals and flavors that even I, a vino enthusiast, could appreciate. The knowledgeable staff guided us through the tasting briefly, and we enjoyed some delicious snacks that paired wonderfully with our drinks.
Am I converted? Not quite. I’ll stick to my glass of vino any day, but I definitely enjoyed the experience and the company. Ambleside, you’ve got a lovely spot, and I might just pop in again sometime!
