I had never been to an art exhibition before, but with my new exploration of acrylic painting, I am finding an appreciation of art that I never thought I would. So, I decided to say “yes” to an invitation to visit The Art of Banksy!
Initially, this started out as an excuse to socialise with friends, but I was very surprised by how much I got into it and actually took the time to read the information about the pieces. Banksy’s work was moving, thought-provoking, and powerful. The creativity and messages behind the art resonated with me in unexpected ways.
We tried our best to look sophisticated while there, but we weren’t fooling anyone. Despite our efforts, our laughter gave us away. Of course, we finished off with drinks afterward, because that’s how we roll.
What I loved most about this experience was that someone else organised it. Thank you to my beautiful friend Jude, for bringing us together. It was pretty liberating to just go with the flow and not be at the helm for once. I genuinely appreciated the opportunity to experience art in this new way.
